Where do I get my pole posters designed and printed?
In addition to distribution, Sydney Posters also offers pole poster design and printing services.
Pole poster design
We offer a special price of $55 for pole poster design when combined with our printing and distribution services. When considering your poster, bold and very simple designs work best - who, what, where and when needs to be highly visible by passing traffic.
Pole poster printing
The method of printing used is dependant on the distribution quantity and the colours required. Screen-printing uses a heavier paper stock of 170gsm and is the best method for printing fluorescent inks and smaller quantities. Offset printing is the best option for larger quantities and full colour jobs. We recommend a paper stock that is at least 150gsm up to a maximum paper weight of 170gsm as lighter paper stocks are easily damaged by wind and rain.
- Screen-printing size: 990mm (tall) x 350mm (wide)
- Offset printing size: 1000mm (tall) x 350mm (wide)
When do you distribute pole posters and how long do they stay up?
Posters are distributed weekly from Friday to Monday, with the aim that all posters last 7 days from the time of placement, unless removed by councils or elements beyond our control. The day of placement varies by location and we assign approximately 5% to 15% of posters to patch up high profile runs between Monday and Wednesday.
If Sydney Posters is not organising printing please ensure that your printer delivers your posters to us by 5pm on Friday. If deliveries arrive late you may miss distribution and a surcharge may apply.
How many pole posters would you recommend for my campaign?
For a comprehensive metro wide campaign we suggest 1000 posters per week. For localised campaigns, for example, eastern suburbs or the inner west we recommend 250 posters per week. Please email poles@sydneyposters.com to discuss your specific requirements.
When is your booking deadline?
Enquiries are welcome by phone, fax or email with all bookings required by 2pm Tuesday and location requests in writing by fax or email before 5pm on Wednesday. During peak periods, especially long weekend and public holidays, quantity limits may apply and bookings are required early to ensure succesful and effective distribution.

Do you ensure that pole posters are always kept tidy?
Sydney Posters is committed to recycling 100% of all pole posters at the end of an event. Our team of distributors take great care to ensure that your event or brand's reputation is not damaged by becoming litter after the show is over. Weekly runs ensure that all displays are tidy and expired material is recycled quickly.
What if I have specific requirements outside of your regular service?
We can tailor a campaign to suit your timeframe, budget and needs, for example, our recent ARIA campaign blitz achieving total saturation on specific arterial roads. Email poles@sydneyposters.com for further information.
Am I allowed to put up pole posters?
To the best of our extensive experience no NSW State legislation prohibits advertising on poles (except election material), despite the belief otherwise of some zealous councils and police. Problematic councils, police or poor weather may delay or alter distribution. At all times Sydney Posters endeavours to distribute your posters free of penalties and warning letters. However, at no time will Sydney Posters accept responsibility for any warning letters or fines nor any legal action arising from poster distribution. Sydney Posters has no legal right to use poles. Councils and community members may remove posters. Please make us aware of any issues and we will resolve them if it is within our power to do so. Any dispute must be brought to our attention within 7 days of notice.
Sydney Posters reserves the right not to distribute posters containing sexist or offensive references. Sydney Posters has distributed pole posters in Sydney since 1991.
